Submissions are open to all genres at this time. For guidelines, please see our Submissions Guidelines.
Romance: AIB takes pride in the fact that all of our titles can be read by anyone who can understand the words written in them. We don't need explicit details to know what happens between couples in a romance novel. Please leave a little to our imaginations. We are actively seeking romance submissions.
Mystery: Everybody loves a good plot. Mysteries do not have to involve murder. A mystery is a mystery, whether it's theft, abduction, murder, haunting...thrill me, chill me, but don't bore me.
Horror: Depends on how good it is. We're not real keen on horror, but if the writer is good enough, we might change our minds.
Religious Fiction: This doesn't mean that the writer has to be "shoveling it in thick". This means we want to see fiction with morals, something we'd let our children read, or for that matter, encourage them to read. The protagonists in these tales must have some sort of faith that helps lead them through the story. No belief structure will be rejected based solely on our agreement/disagreement with the theories of the belief. Our submissions are rejected based on skill, talent, and flow. Just because a Nazarene does not believe the same as a Buddhist, and neither of them agree with the Jewish faith, does not make any of them wrong, just different.
Others: Hey, we're good, but we're not that good at remembering it all without our notes. There are obviously so many more categories available. We're open to it all.
There are many amazing things about children that just astound us adults. We stand on the outside looking down at these wonderful bundles and haven't the slightest idea how we ever used to be that age or size, and how our own parents managed to survive those years. Even more than that, though, we are amazed at their imagination.
Here is their opportunity to voice that imagination in print.
Children should have parents permission before they mail anything. Once you have that permission, send us that awesome story you wrote. We'd love to see it.
For concerned parents: We are parents, too, and we know that there are a great many scams out there that just take your pride in your children for granted. They tell you that they will publish something your child wrote, but the only way you will be able to see something is if you spend some outrageous amount to purchase a copy for yourself. That is not the case. Every child will receive a set number of copies without charge. AIB is obviously in the business to make money, but not at the expense of our reputation.
